IMPORTANT!!! THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IS NOT ORGANISING ANOTHER ENTRANCE EXAM IN SEPTEMBER 2010 IN GENERAL MEDICINE, DENTISTRY AND PHARMACY!


The University of Oradea comprises 18 faculties providing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Romanian and in English. Courses offered in English are for undergraduate level in International Relations and European Studies specialization (bachelor 3 years), Faculty of History -Geography and International Relations  and in General Medicine (General Medicine 6 years). The University of Oradea has implemented the Bologna education system since 2005.

There are two admission sessions: in July and September.

1st of March 2010- 1st  of July 2010 – submission files for the acknowledgement of previous studies by the Ministry of Education
15-24 July 2010- registration process
25-28 July 2010 –entrance exam
25-29 July 2009- the final results

The admission period for September session 2010
*this session is conditioned by the results of the July session.
06-17 September 2010 – registration process
18-22 September 2010 – entrance exam
19-25 September 2010 – confirmations, enrolment. 

 

1. Eligible candidates
-Candidates from European Union, European Economic Space and Switzerland
- Candidates from non-European Union countries.
-Candidates who have graduated a high-school or college accredited in their country and which is recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports.(For citizens from UK is needed 3 A level subjects  to study Medicine)
2. Language of studies
a. Romanian
Candidates who do not speak Romanian language can apply for studies into Romanian provided they take a preparatory language course one year before enrolment. At the end of the preparatory year, the candidates will acquire a Romanian language certificate. In case the candidate already has knowledge of Romanian language, they can sit in for the Romanian language test at the Faculty of Letters which issues a certificate. Romanian language certificates will be accepted only from Romanian Universities accredited to issue such certificates.
b. Candidates choosing specializations in English language have to present one of the following documents: English certificate obtained before, proof that he/she graduated studies into English or an English certificate issued by the Faculty of Letters (University of Oradea).

 

Dates for the language exams for July session are:

15th of July 2010 at 10 a.m English language exam

16th of July 2010 at 10 a.m Romanian language exam

Fee for the exam is  200 RON (50 euro)

3. Available places
Every year, the Senate of the University with the approval of the Ministry of Education decides on the number of available places. This number of available places is published on the University’s webpage.
 

4.Admission

 

The admission for EU, EEA and Switzerland candidates has 2 phases:
I. Obtaining the recognition of previous studies from the Ministry of Education (Certificate issued by the Center of Recognition and Validation of Studies)
II. Participation of the candidates to the admission organized by the University of Oradea.

 

 

1st Phase
Applying for the recognition of studies (Testimonial)

According to the law number 316/2006 all the citizens of EU, SEE and Switzerland have access to all forms of education, in the same conditions as Romanians including tuition fees.
As of 15.06.2009 all the citizens of the abovementioned countries will no longer need an acceptance letter, but a CERTIFICATE issued by the National Center of Recognition and Validation of Diplomas at the Romanian Ministry of Education. With this certificate, the candidates can be registered for admission at the University of Oradea.
The candidates who have graduated in Romania no longer need an approval from the Ministry of Education.
The application file for the recognition of studies must be submitted to the International Relations Department/Office for Foreign Students at the University of Oradea. Files submitted by individual candidates are not being processed by the Ministry of Education.
Before the file is processed, all candidates must pay a processing file fee of 150 euro, a fee requested by the University of Oradea. The processing file fee will be paid to the University’s bank account before the application is submitted and it covers the expenses for the process of the issuance of the acceptance letter. Once the processing file fee is paid, it can not be reimbursed.

THE FEE CAN BE SENT ONLY BY BANK TRANSFER!!!PLEASE DO NOT SEND IT BY WESTERN UNION OR ORDINARY MAIL!!!

The documents required for the application are as follows:

 

  1. Application form for the University of Oradea (click HERE to download)

  3.  High-school Diploma – legalized copy

  4. Bachelor degree and transcript of records (for graduate applicants) – legalized copy

  5.  Identification document (photocopy): Passport (first 4 pages)  or   other ID.

  6. Declaration that the previous studies give you the right to follow university studies.

  7. Confirmation of payment for non-refundable processing file fee of 150 euro  

The documents in other languages than English or French will be translated either into English or into Romanian.

 If the candidate is declared eligible and the file is complete, the International Relations Department forwards the documents to the Ministry of Education to issue the Certificate according to which the candidates can pursue their studies in Romania.
In case of non-recognition of the degree, the candidate cannot go on with his registration.


 

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Diplomas obtained in ITALY, GREECE, SPAIN, PORTUGAL and CIPRUS are compulsory to be stamped with apostil of HAGA Convention. This can normally be done in public notary in the origin country.

Deadline for submitting the file for recognition is the 1st of July 2010. After this date no applications will be processed.

 

2nd Phase
Registration at the university
Registration of the candidates for the admission exam or file competition is done on the basis of the recognition of studies by the Ministry of Education together with the original file which must be submitted in the legal admission periods mentioned above. The registration file must comprise the documents according to the admission methodology at the University of Oradea for 2010.


The candidate will submit the following documents:

1. Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent in original together with the legalized translation in Romanian.
2. Transcript of records in original and legalized translation in romanian language for previous studies (This is compulsory, because some of the faculties don't have an entrance exam and they need the grades from high school)
3. Language certificate for the language in which the candidate will study (candidates coming from countries in which the official language or the language of teaching is the same as the language of teaching at the University of Oradea are exempted). The language certificate can be obtained at the Faculty of Letters before the entrance exam.
4. Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education or a statement that the certificate will be provided before the 1st of October 2010.
5. Copy and legalized translation in romanian language of the birth certificate.
6. Copy of the passport, or ID
7. Matriculation fee
8. Marriage Certificate (if the name of the student has changed after marriage).
9. Medical certificate in English and attested by the university physician.
10. 4 passport photos.
11. Plastic folder.

will be settled by the Senate of the University for the coming academic year.

Fees that must be paid at the registration are:

Registration fee 150 RON ( around 35 euro)

Matriculation fee 100 RON ( around 25 euro)

English and Romanian examination fee 200 RON (50 euro)

 

Visa
EU, SEE and Switzerland citizens do not need a visa for studies but they have the duty to inform the Romanian Immigration Office/Bihor Immigration Office on their staying in Oradea (Oficiul Român pentru Imigrări /Serviciul pentru Imigrări Bihor).

For the Medicine Faculty, the students can do the exam whether in biology or chemistry(only one subject). The exam will be essay type.
